NOUN Admission Requirements for All Programmes.

As a prospective student, you may be wondering what it takes to gain admission into any of our programs. Well, you’re in the right place!

Firstly, it’s important to note that NOUN operates an open and distance learning system, which means that our programs are designed to be accessible to everyone regardless of their location, work schedule or educational background.

To be eligible for admission into any of our programs, you must possess a minimum of five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings in either the WAEC, NECO or NABTEB examinations.

For undergraduate programs, you must have a minimum of 180 UTME score (JAMB), while for postgraduate programs, a first degree with a minimum of second-class lower division from a recognized university is required.

In addition to these basic requirements, some programs may have specific admission requirements such as pre-requisite courses, work experience, or professional qualifications. It is important that you check the specific admission requirements for your chosen program on our website or contact us for more information.

Certificate ProgrammesRequirements
Proficiency Certificate Programmes– Junior Secondary School Certificate. – Minimum of 2 credits in SSCE/GCE ‘O’ Level, NECO, NABTEB and at not more than two sittings. – T.C. II with at least 2 merits at not more than two sittings. – Mature candidates of 30 years and above with relevant work experience of not less than 10 years or evidence of prior knowledge/proficiency in a relevant field may be considered on their merit. – I’dadiyah Certificate of Standard Islamiyyah School.

Diploma Programmes– No previous experience or qualification is necessary. – Ability to read and write will be an advantage. – Note: Candidates for Proficiency Certificates will NOT be qualified to proceed to Certificates/Diploma programs without possessing the requisite basic qualifications.

How to Apply for the NOUN Admission Form

To apply for admission into the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), you can follow these steps:

  • Visit the NOUN website at www.nouonline.net.
  • Click on the “Apply for Admission” button on the homepage.
  • Select the level of study you wish to apply for (Undergraduate or Postgraduate).
  • Create an account by filling in your details such as your name, email address, phone number, etc.
  • After creating your account, log in and complete the application form by providing your personal and academic information.
  • Upload the required documents such as passport photographs, academic certificates, and any other relevant documents.
  • Pay the application fee online using any of the available payment options (such as ATM card, bank transfer, etc).
  • Submit the completed application form and print out the acknowledgment slip.
  • Await communication from the university on the status of your application.

It is important to note that NOUN has no age limit for admission, and applications are usually open all year round. However, specific deadlines may be communicated for each admission cycle.
